Gruha Laxmi Scheme: Karnataka Govt to Provide Financial Assistance to Women

The Karnataka government on Wednesday launched the Gruha Laxmi scheme, a financial assistance program for women self-help groups (SHGs). Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched the scheme.

Under the scheme, each SHG will be given a grant of Rs 2 lakh. The money can be used for various purposes, including business development, skill training, and education.

Speaking at the launch event, Kharge said that the scheme was aimed at empowering women and helping them improve their economic conditions. He also said that the government was committed to fulfilling its promises to the people of Karnataka reported ABP LIVE.

Rs 2000 to womens ban accounts

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi says, “Before the elections, the Congress party had made five promises to Karnataka. We had said that when Congress party and its leaders say something, they do it. Today, when we click on the tablet, crores of women receive Rs 2000 directly into their bank accounts.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also hailed the launch of the Gruha Laxmi scheme. In a tweet, he said that the scheme was a “fulfillment of the Congress’s promise to empower women”. He also said that Congress does not make “false promises”.

The Gruha Laxmi scheme is one of the several welfare schemes launched by the Karnataka government in recent months. The government has also announced a slew of other measures to improve the lives of women, including free sanitary pads and financial assistance for pregnant women.

Womens thrilled

Women’s groups have welcomed the launch of the Gruha Laxmi scheme. They say the scheme will help women become self-reliant and improve their economic conditions.

However, some critics have said that the scheme is insufficient and that the government must do more to empower women. They have also pointed out that the scheme is likely to benefit only a small number of women.

Only time will tell whether the Gruha Laxmi scheme will be successful in empowering women and improving their economic conditions. However, the launch of the scheme is a positive step by the Karnataka government and it is a step in the right direction.
